Is it free?
Yes. WetinDey is free to download and use.
What is WetinDey?
An app that tells you what is happening around you today: light, fuel, roads, market prices, news and alerts, from people who are there.
Who is it for?
Anyone who wants to plan their day around real information: people going to work, drivers, traders, families. It is made for budget phones and slow data.
Where does it work?
It is live first in Warri, Uvwie & Udu in Delta State. Anywhere else in Nigeria you can look up your area and report what you see, but expect fewer reports at first. We switch on more cities one by one.
Where does the information come from?
From people using the app. They report light, prices and road conditions, and others confirm. Weather and the official naira rate come from outside sources and are labelled.
How do I know a report is true?
We check that you are really there when you send a report. Prices are photographed inside the app. Other people confirm reports, and false reports are removed. See the community rules.
Do I earn anything for reporting?
You earn points. For example, a price with a photo is 10 points and confirming someone's price is 2. Points have a value that changes each week and is never promised. The app shows this week's value.
What if my area has few reports?
Outside Warri, Uvwie and Udu you may see few reports at first. You can still look up your area and report. The first reporter in an empty area earns double points.
Do I need an account?
You can read without one. To post a report you sign in with your Nigerian phone number (+234) and a one-time code. In an emergency you can report without signing in.
Does it use my location?
Only when you tap “Use my location” or send a report, and only while the app is open. It never tracks you in the background.
Is there anything to buy in the app?
No. The app has no purchases and takes no payments. WetinDey Business, for advertisers and listings, is a separate web service at business.wetindeyplay.com.
What happens to my data?
Nothing is sold and nothing is shared for advertising. Read the privacy policy for details, or write to [email protected].
Does it work on a slow connection?
Yes, it is built for that. There is a data saver, photos are shrunk, and reports wait on your phone until you have network.

What are Sponsored posts?
Posts paid for by advertisers. They are always marked Sponsored, you can hide them, and they never appear in emergencies or next to death notices.

Android phones and iPhones.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Me > Settings > Delete account, or see the delete account page.
